Prof. Anna Sarkadi

Anna Sarkadi is professor of social medicine at Uppsala University. Born in Budapest, she moved to Uppsala, Sweden in 1995, to finish her medical degree. She went on to earn a PhD in health services research and then specialized in social medicine. She became professor in 2016 at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences. Prof Sarkadi is the head of the research group Child Health and Parenting. CHAP’s research focus is evaluating and implementing societal interventions to promote the mental health of children and families, especially in vulnerable groups. CHAP’s motto is for families – with families. It is therefore one of the important missions of the research group to advocate for and include the voices of children and families in their research.
